Sergei Rachmaninoff's Vespers is a monumental Russian choral composition that consists of settings of texts taken from the Russian Orthodox All Night Vigil. The wealth of moods included in this work make the vast Church of Our Lady Immaculate the perfect venue for this not to be missed experience.

Elora Festival 2010
Friday July 9th - Sunday August 1st, 2010

Come see why the stars shine brighter in Elora. The Elora Festival attracts a stellar line-up of world-class musicians for intimate performances that light up the summer sky.

From the haunting Celtic melodies of tenor John McDermott, to Richard Margison one of the most critically acclaimed singers on the international stage, or I Furiosi Baroque Ensemble with their unparalleled fervour and sex-appeal, you are sure to witness something unique. Back by popular demand, is pianist Andre Laplante and banjo virtuoso Jayme Stone. Peter Appleyard will swing through the night with a tribute to Benny Goodman and the stage lights heat up for an evening of Broadway with David Warrack. International artists Trio Magellan and Ludus Modalis travel in from Paris to delight us with their beautiful sounds and intriguing compositions.

We proudly present our own internationally celebrated Elora Festival Singers, lending graceful harmony to Beethoven’s Mass in C, Britten’s St. Nicholas, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Handel’s Dixit Dominus. Hear them give voice to a captivating performance of The Tudors, and adding flavour to our favourite Festival finale, Hymn Tasting, featuring none other than the irreverent John Fraser.

The Elora Festival is a musical experience like no other. Culture beneath the stars begins July 9th and runs until August 1st. You’ll love the view.

Our full line-up of concerts and tickets available in April 2010.
